HTS provide specialist tracing systems to prevent "ice dams" from forming on roofs and gutters and causing water ingress into buildings 

Specialist heat tracing cables can be laid directly in gutters and downpipes. The heat tracing cable is self regulating which provides maximum enegry efficiency and ensures that the cable itself can never burn out.

A thermostat or specialist control unit is used to energise the tracer only when required. The thermostat switches the tracer based on the air temperature only. However a control system can also be provided to measure both air temperature and moisture levels to ensure that the tracer is energisd only when absolutely necessary.
